Argo Tractors and innovation, the winning match at Sima
Argo Tractors and innovation, the winning match at Sima
The 73rd Sima trade show, which recently ended in Paris, was certainly a successful event. Over 135 thousand visitors flocked to the great French venue, about 25% of whom came from foreign countries.
A success to which Argo Tractors contributed first hand, as a numerous public of farmers, farm contractors, dealers and foreign importers were attracted to the vast 2,600 square meter exhibition booth, strong interested in the innovations presented by this all-Italian tractor making enterprise.
Innovations that included the new Landini PowerMondial, PowerVision and Mistral tractors, the new MTX and CX series from the McCormick range as well as the latest XTX 185 model.
The celebrity guests included illustrious persons such as the French Minister of Agriculture, Michel Barnier, who was on an official visit to the exhibition and stopped by at the Argo Tractors booth.
The Argo Tractors booth at SIA, the International Exhibition of Agriculture, which took place at the same time as Sima, also received an important visit from President Nicolas Sarkozy.
All the interest aroused during the event confirmed how technology and innovation always draw in the crowds for the agricultural machinery sector. Thanks to its dynamic production policies, Argo Tractors revealed yet again all the force of attraction it is able to exercise on an international scale.
Comment from the Sales and Marketing Manager of the Argo Industrial Group:
“Despite the tension on the financial markets and its effects on the real economy during the last few months of the year, we were able to close 2008 with a turnover that marked a significant growth.
The unfavourable macroeconomic background will condition the current year, but we are confident of being able to achieve satisfactory goals having launched strategic products for both Landini and McCormick. We have also invested in our dealer network and are proceeding with a series of activities able to take full advantage of our trade names”.
Dr. Eng. Luigi Coppa
Comment from the Chairman of Argo France:
“The SIMA trade show can be analysed from two different angles: on the one hand, it is an important appointment for customers who want to examine the new models while on the other, it gives manufacturers the chance to monitor the market trends. Both the customers and representatives from the political institutions showed great interest in our new Landini and McCormick tractors, owing to both their refined Italian design and the important pioneering solutions they feature.
In a period of stagnation caused by last year’s economic doldrums, we are now witnessing the first signs of recovery and are more confident of being able to achieve our forecast goals.
The team work and enthusiasm for which Argo France stands out are what we need to improve our portions of the French market and to strengthen our dealer network.”

Argo Tractors, with its headquarters in Fabbrico (RE), manufactures tractors under the Landini and McCormick brands and belongs to the Argo Industrial Group.
The Tractor Manufacturing Division of the Argo Group has tripled its production volumes in little more than 10 years, with a remarkable growth in concrete results: 2,000 employees, 4 plants, 27 product ranges, 8 business branches in the world and 130 foreign importers.
Statistics that have allowed the Landini and McCormick brands to achieve a significant standing on the domestic tractor market and to represent one of the most important international players, thus confirming the value of a successful group strategy.
Argo Tractors’ strength lies in belonging to a great group: several different enterprises that are all part of a single project: integrated resources and specialization are the mainstays on which the Argo Group bases its manufacturing and business strategy, with six brands, plants in Italy, France and Germany plus an unwavering and exclusive industrial vocation.
